Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Chimney Company in Ontario, CA
Most Ontario chimney work starts with a repair, not a sweep. The city’s post-war tract homes and older downtown bungalows were built with clay flue tiles that crack after decades of Inland Empire heat cycling, and many homeowners don’t know there’s a problem until they switch to gas logs and the old flue no longer vents safely. We’re Chimney Sweep Chino Hills, and we’ve served Ontario since 2017. When you call (877) 358-0941, we’ll show you what we find before we recommend what to fix.
Why Ontario Homes Are Different
Ontario’s housing stock tells the story. The 1940s through 1960s tract neighborhoods east and south of downtown were built fast, with brick masonry chimneys and clay tile liners that were never meant to last 70 years. The 1970s and 1980s brought stucco-and-tile homes with prefab metal fireplaces and factory flues that rust and warp in their own way. Then there are the older Craftsman and Spanish Colonial bungalows near Euclid Avenue and Holt Boulevard, where original chimneys have been through nearly a century of use.
The climate does specific damage here. Ontario sits in the Inland Empire valley, so we get hot, dry summers where chimney crowns bake and crack under direct sun. Santa Ana winds push grit and debris down uncapped flues. Winter rain finds every compromised crown and flashing seam. The most common pattern we see: a homeowner in a 1950s ranch home stops using the wood fireplace, gets a gas insert installed, and nobody checks whether the original clay flue is still intact. It usually isn’t. Thermal expansion from decades of hot, dry summers followed by cooler winter nights leaves clay tiles spalled and cracked, and the homeowner has no idea until we put a camera up the flue.

Our Main Ontario Services
Ontario homeowners call us most often for two things: a proper chimney sweep and dryer vent cleaning that actually prevents a fire. Both start with an inspection and both come with a straight answer about what needs doing now and what can wait.
Chimney Sweep in Ontario
Even with the shift toward gas logs and sealed fireplaces, Ontario homes still need regular flue inspection. Cracked clay tiles, wind-blown debris, and nests from the Santa Ana season all find their way into chimneys that look fine from the outside. We sweep every flue with brushes sized to the liner, run a camera inspection, and give you a photo report. If we spot damage during the sweep, we’ll tell you. If it can wait, we’ll say that too. Ontario’s older homes on the east side are where we find the most surprises. Full details are on our Chimney Sweep in Ontario page.

Dryer Vent Cleaning in Ontario
Dryer vent fires are one of the most preventable home fire risks in Ontario, and lint builds up fastest in the hot, dry months when everything runs static-charged. Most Ontario homes route dryer exhaust through walls or up through the roof, and every bend in that run is a lint trap. We clean the full run from the dryer connection to the exterior termination, check airflow with a manometer, and document the before and after. It’s not an add-on. It’s a fire-safety service that belongs on the same appointment as a chimney inspection. See Dryer Vent Cleaning in Ontario for the full scope.

Chimney Repair in Ontario
Chimney repair in Ontario usually means one of two things: fixing what water and heat have already broken, or preventing the next failure before it costs more. The city’s older masonry chimneys take a beating from dry heat that bakes mortar joints and crown caps, while winter rain works into every crack. A lot of what we repair in Ontario was set in motion years before the homeowner noticed anything wrong. Our full Chimney Repair service covers everything from cap replacement to full liner work, and we use professional-grade materials from Copperfield, DuraFlex, and HeatShield on every job.
Chimney Cap Installation
Signs you need it
You need a cap if you can see daylight from inside the firebox, hear wind drafting down the flue, or find leaves, debris, or bird nesting material in the fireplace.
What it costs in Ontario
Chimney cap installation in Ontario typically runs $280 to $640 depending on flue size and material.
How we do it
We measure the flue tile, select a properly sized cap from Copperfield or Gelco, secure it to the crown or flue, and confirm the draft is unobstructed before we leave.
Chimney Liner Installation
Signs you need it
You need a new liner if a camera inspection shows cracked, spalled, or missing clay tiles, or if you notice flue gases or staining around the chimney chase.
What it costs in Ontario
Chimney liner installation in Ontario typically runs $2,800 to $5,700 depending on flue height, access, and whether we’re relining for a gas insert or a wood-burning fireplace.
How we do it
We run a camera first to document the damage, then pull a DuraFlex flexible liner through the existing flue and terminate it with a proper cap and connector.
What Chimney Repair Costs in Ontario
| Item | Typical range in Ontario |
|---|---|
| Chimney crown repair | $350 – $900 |
| Chimney cap installation | $280 – $640 |
| Chimney liner installation | $2,800 – $5,700 |
Do I really need a new liner, or can my chimney be swept?
A sweep removes buildup. It cannot fix cracked clay tiles or a flue that no longer contains heat and gases. If the camera shows structural damage, sweeping alone leaves the same safety risk in place. We’ll show you the footage before recommending a liner.
How often should a chimney be swept in Ontario?
For wood-burning fireplaces, once per cord of wood burned, or at least annually before the burning season. Gas log sets still need an annual inspection for flue integrity, even though they produce little creosote. Ontario homes switching from wood to gas should have the flue camera-inspected at the same time. Call (877) 358-0941 to book.
Brands We Service in Ontario
We install and work with Copperfield caps, DuraFlex liners, HeatShield resurfacing, and Gelco chase covers. These are the same professional-grade product lines chimney contractors across the country use for liner repair and system restoration. We keep common cap and connector sizes on the truck for Ontario jobs, which means most cap replacements happen in a single visit. See our brands for details on each line.
